The Loricraft PRC3 is a heavy-duty record cleaning machine used by record libraries, used record shops, and serious record collectors all over the world.
The PRC3 uses an industrial vacuum motor that can be run 24 hours a day without overheating, yet is so quiet you’ll be able to listen records on your hi-fi system while using it. Vacuum suction is concentrated in a tiny nylon nozzle tip that rides on a nylon thread, thus focussing the suction action and protecting the record surface at the same time. The nylon thread (nylon for its anti-static properties) is manually drawn out a few millimetres before each cleaning, so that the record is only ever touched by a small, clean, soft surface. Less than a minute is all it takes to clean each LP side thoroughly, leaving the grooves completely dry.
All switches are jacketed with rubber covers to protect against spillage. The platter can be rotated in either direction. Any record cleaning solution can be used (one bottle of L’Art du Son cleaning fluid, to be diluted with distilled water, is included).
Dimensions are 460W x 405D x 220H mm. Weight is approximately 18 kg.
Available in black finish only. A hinged, clear acrylic dustcover is available at extra cost.
The Loricraft PRC3 is a special order item, usually with a 3-4 week delivery time.
“The Loricraft is geared more toward clubs, stores, or well-to-do enthusiasts who want the absolute best and absolute quietest record cleaning machine they can buy. As a bonus, it’s so much fun to use—and to watch!—that it makes record maintenance a bit less drudgy. Very enthusiastically recommended.” (Art Dudley, July/August 2002)
“Time after time, the Loricraft did a superb job of deep cleaning [records] to the point that noise became a secondary issue…. Obviously, stylus wear, incorrect turntable setup, and the recklessness of previous owners all play a part in playback quality. If a record is too damaged, not even the Loricraft can work its magic. What it does do very well, however, is eliminate the contaminants. Even brand new, sealed records benefit from the Loricraft.”
